Seller onboarding
For established businesses and first-time food sellers across the United States. Tell us your state, local jurisdiction, products and kitchen. Requirements and exemptions still need review for the exact activity; applying does not mean selling is approved.
Sandbox application testing. Use sample information and documents. The checklist tests the review process; it is not a complete licensing checklist.
Business registration, food credentials and permission to sell are separate checks. Automated government-record checking is not connected yet.
Requirements depend on where food is prepared and sold, the products, kitchen and fulfillment method. Where a reviewed rule does not require a license, that license should not be demanded. A disclosure cannot replace a legally required license or registration. You can save your progress while getting ready.
Nationwide intake is supported; reviewed selling rules are not yet available for every jurisdiction. Reference links checked September 17, 2026. No private application details are sent automatically. These links do not verify an applicant.
Understand federal, state and local food-business responsibilities.
General guidance is not a permit or an exemption decision. Product, preparation site, sales channel and destination matter.
Find state retail-food authorities and follow their official guidance.
A source directory is not a reviewed 50-state cottage-food ruleset. Confirm current state, county, city and applicable tribal requirements with the responsible authorities.
